Cordelia's Articles In Blogging

This is what I'm afraid my blog will turn into someday. This is (obviously) from Chuck Shepherd's "News of the Weird" Chuck Shepherd's News of the Weird (.860) WEEK OF AUGUST 1, 2004 (NOTE: Chuck Shepherd appeared to be getting too close to his subject matter and thus needs about three more weeks off. Before he left, he picked out some golden oldies to tide you over.) Lead Story Autobiography of the Least Interesting Man in America: According to a 1996 Seattle Times fea...

Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie Michigan has released its annual list of words that it would like to see “banished”. This is in no way an actual banishment of the words or phrases, but rather a list that nominees feel are overused, improper or just plain useless. The list contains phrases like “zero percent APR financing”. Truthfully, the phrase could be much more simply stated as “no interest”. Other phrases topping the list are: “Wardrobe malfunction” “You’re fired!...

There have been several posts now that deal with what should and shouldn't be posted on JoeUser. Some believe that this site should be exclusively for political articles, some think the site owners should not post articles that contain personal thoughts, and some think that JoeUser and WinCustomize shouldn't be linked.   JoeUser is a blog site. Blogging is defined by Google thusly: "A blog is basically a journal that is available on the web. The activity of updating a blog is "bl...

Stardock is moving to a new office currently. The move is happening over the course of a couple of weeks, and obviously moving can be a stressful time for anyone. Mormegil, who is already working out of the new office, took this picture with his camera phone. Kind of makes all the effort worthwhile! Check out the link below!

We have been seeing several articles lately that indicate a number of you are having a problem connecting to JU. Personally, I would wither away and die without JU, so we understand your pain and want to get these issues cleared up if possible. If you or someone you know is having a problem connecting, please respond here and tell us EXACTLY what the error message is (include a screenshot if you want to) and when you started having the trouble, and any other information you think is pertinen...

I have put off too much stuff for far too long. In order to have one more thing checked off my list, I am writing an update blog. Sorry for the list-like format and sorry to anyone who accidentally clicked on this blog hoping for some kind of interesting information. I have none. I have nothing of interest for anyone who is not a close friend, and even the most hardy of them will be hard put to refrain from yawning as they read this.   Last night at 8pm I was possessed of the desire ...

I have done it! I have created the JoeUser Frappr. (Hopefully there wasn't already one...I did a search and didn't see it.) In any event, you can add yourself by following the link below. Information about Frappr (plagiarized from their website): Frappr was created by Brian, Kun and James at Rising Concepts, who wanted to see where all their high school and college friends went after they graduated. Frappr (Friend Mapper) lets you see the zip code where your friends live or work, le...

This weekend we went crazy. My husband has long ago decided that he likes small convertible cars. He'd like a BMW Z4, but that's a little out of our price range at the moment. So last year when Saturn and Pontiac announced they were both coming out with affordable small convertibles, we got very excited. We've waited for months, and still no cars to test drive. The Hubby decided he likes the Saturn body style a little better, so he was prety sure he wanted one of those. Upon calling Satu...

Been up all night. The minute I lay my head down all of the bitterness and crap I've had to swallow that day and every day stretching back to the day of my birth comes bubbling up like vomit. And make no mistake about it, I'm bitter. And it's not all stuff I'm making up, either. It's a strange thing to lie in bed and be eaten alive from the inside out. Seems a bit unfair...but I guess I'm used to it. I am SO tired right now, and I know my whole day will be ruined tomorrow from lack of sleep b...

A few years ago I become ill with the stomach flu. I woke up and felt fine, but by the time I was driving to work I knew I had better turn around and go back home. I don't mean to be crass or crude, but I spent the rest of the morning being violently ill. It was difficult to walk, I felt terribly weak and shaky, and by Noon I began to wonder if I shouldn't take myself off to the emergency room.   I really did not want to go to the emergency room, but I couldn't keep even a sip of wate...
