My home is not a place, it is people.

The voters have spoken and they have said they do not support gay marriage.

I must say, I am shocked. I did not realize I was so far out of touch with the rest of the country. Personally, I don’t think we have the right to infringe upon the freedoms of any one group of people. Whether you think being gay is a choice, or whether you think people are gay for biological reasons, whether you think that being gay is right or wrong, they should be allowed to marry.

I know quite a few gay people myself. Some of them are in committed relationships, some are not. Some have good relationships, some do not. Some want to be married, some do not. I could say the same for the straight people I know. I just don’t see the difference.

I have one gay friend who died recently of lung cancer. Perhaps it is best that he didn’t live to have the nation tell him – yet again – that he is not allowed to have the same rights as others.

I am sickened. Sickened.

Well said, and true. It will be interesting to see what happens in the corts over the next year or so, these laws seam blatantly unconstational.
Sometimes issues need to be pushed into the light to make people do something about it.

Too right. I've done nothing to support gay rights so far except to cast my votes. I think I'll have to start doing more.

It does really surprise me that people care SO MUCH about stopping two people from joining their lives together. How does their marriage hurt anyone? It makes me feel CRAZY - like the whole country has been sniffing paint thinner or something. It feels like a crazy crazy world. To go out of your way to hurt someone else like that. ???
